    Portable Range

Was thinking about making a portable bullet trap/range.
Have a old horse trailer can take a lot of weight and fit 4ft X 6ft opening.
Doors in front and back so easy access on both sides of trap.
My idea was two fold, save the lead, brass and keep the area clean after use.

What are thoughts on how big a catch you would feel comfortable using?
For handgun the 4x6 is plenty.
    Rifle maybe small beyond 100yds.

The set back most likely is about 2ft so I can install dueling tree and keep fragments inside trailer.
Best material for windows/daylight on roof?

Has anyone seen one before or have links?

Can CHP pull you over for bullet holes in a trailer?
YES, for a car ask my brother after a day in the sticks acting like
    Bring DuctTape
    PARK TRAILER.......REMOVE TRUCK....

Will be making trap for backyard.
    About 1,000-1,200lbs
Just thinking out loud about moving it for long range use or move on property.

    Thanks for any ideas.

    1/12 scale model

I have no practical experience to share, but I did watch this Jerry Miculek video about his target trailer a few months back.

        Thanks,
Looking at video my angle is way off.
        Will need more research.
Was trying to make out of 2pcs. 3/8" 4'x8' minimizing cuts and waste.

I would go with only one angled side, to eliminate the potential of a piece making a u turn and coming back at me.

If you are concerned about the length, angled slats might be an option, like the radiator armour on a half track.

Slats over the windows would help and still let some light through, as well.

I'm not sure if jerry is shooting rifles in those traps. But I don't cast so no ideas there. For brass i have a tarp, canopy and mosquito netting around 2 sides. All folds up back in my sedan.

My first iteration was a pool net frame with a pillow case on a tripod.
