The fact that he was practicing a draw and fire drill sounds suspicious. If was just sitting there and went off without being touched that would be an issue. Good luck proving in court that it was the weapon and not a piece of clothing snagging the trigger. The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. -
Guns do not just go off. It's complete nonsense. I appendix carry my p320 everyday without a care in the world. Just another one looking for a handout too embarrassed to own up to being a dangerComment

From the article
"The bullet struck him in his upper right hip and exited out the back of his lower thigh,... “
I’d like to know how he was carrying it considering the entry point. This sounds more like it was either mostly or completely out of the holster to hit him on the upper hip, which is typically where your belt and holster are resting, leaving the grip just about at hip level, and the tip of the barrel at least 4 or 5 inches lower. I would think it would have entered quite a bit lower if it was still completely holstered.....

"Bagnell described Slatowski as "an exemplary, highly trained public employee, former Marine, husband and father of four, who is lucky to be alive," according to the news release."
The part about being a "highly trained public employee" was pretty funny. The guy likely has over a million in taxpayer training...no wonder he feels compelled to try to blame an inanimate object for his personal negligence. I hope the manufacturer counter sues and someone wakes up and kicks this guy off the public dole.
Is this by any chance the same Fed that failed to reasonably store his gun that was ultimately used in the murder of Kate Steinlie?Benefactor Life Member, National Rifle Association

Curious to know whether this incident was filmed. The majority of range boo-boos I've seen, the person doesn't know what they did. Granted, the initial 320 did have trigger issues Sig knew about but failed to disclose.sigpic

That guys finger is on the trigger. He shot himself with poor trigger discipline."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. Show me an old liberal and I'll show you a man without a brain." - Sir Winston Churchill

Before I retired my job included monitoring investigations of unintended firearms discharges by CDCR employees, both on and off-duty. When the department transitioned from S&W double-action revolvers to Glocks the incidence of unplanned loud noises and self-inflicted gunshot wounds went through the roof. The revolver and its 10-12 lb. trigger pull was relatively forgiving of having ones finger on the trigger when it should not have been.
The Glock, not so much. The loud noises were almost always negligent discharges whose cause was a lack of trigger discipline. I have never known a Glock (not a Glock fan, by the way, although I carry one) to fire unless someone pressed the trigger.
Unintended loud noises are 100% preventable, and the solution is trigger discipline!Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. So said somebody but not Mark Twain
