    I have the blued version.

I think they're gone for good. I don't see Ruger making them as they compete too much with what they already make. Hopefully you can find a used one.

I bought mine during the drama we had when California was trying too ban every gun that had a detacheable magazine. I don't know if we ever see this bill again but you never know!

I've since made mine into a target rifle with a nice stock, QD olympic style sights and QD bdc scope. It's a 300 yard 22 lr plinker. Great gun!

I had the blued version, but sold it and bought a CZ 452. It's nice having a tubular magazine, but the bolt was stiff and I didn't like the polymer stock. CZ's bolt is way smoother.

I have way too much into it to sell it!

              Base rifle ~$200
Globe front sight and base ~$100 + drill and tap
Target FP rear sight and base ~$100 + drill and tap
DBC scope, rings & base ~$150
Boyds pro varmint custom stock ~$200
              Grand Total $850

Only a true rifleman can turn a $200 gun into a $850 toy!

300 yard .22lr plinker? what is that, about a 10' lob?

anyways, op may want to to look at the original Marlin 780 series, fine rifles and good shooters..

                780- .22lr removable box magazine
                781- .22lr fixed tubular magazine
                782- .22wmr removable box magazine
                783- .22wmr fixed tubular magazine

this looks to be a 1975 model 780

Marlin Model 780 Bolt Action .22lR Clean

from my personal experience, I've owned a 781 and another 783.. these are my current 783 .22wmr tube feeders, 1975 on top and 1971 on bottom, both great rifles!

                good luck!

I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it
