    San Jose Zouaves:

They shoot at the San Jose Muni range. are CMP affiliated, and offer practice matches which fulfill the marksmanship activity requirement for CMP.

Just join either the CPRA or the Garand Collectors Association. Either one of those organizations will satisfy the club membership requirement.

It's a lot easier to join the Garand Collectors Association than to join a local club. Plus you get their neat magazine.

If you want to join an actual shooting club, than go for it. If you just want to fulfill the CMP club requirement, than join the Garand Collectors Association

For $25 bucks, you get four issues a year of their Garand journal which is the best (and only) around.

It is one of the requirements needed in order to purchase a rifle from the CMP.

The GCA only shoots once a year at Camp Perry. It's hard to find someone through the GCA that has tools or expertise that they can share on the spot. They don't do drop shipments from Sierra or Powder Valley either and aren't involved in local issues.

Go with the local club. Your $25 will be much better spent. You'll have to fill out a form and send in a check.

+1 I agree. I spent a lil more money and joined a local club which gave member discounts and a good group of folks who helped me out with a number of gun related support and Garand information
