Anyone submitted a request for firearms records lately? Does it still take weeks to get back?
I dropped off my renewal application for my CCW today and the lady behind the counter checked my file and told me they are now requiring proof of registration and that a bill of sale would suffice. The problem is I have had these guns for 15 years and I don't know what happened to the paperwork. They have been listed on my CCW for the past 12 years.
She did say she was covering for the guy that normally handles this stuff so I am hoping she was mistaken. It seems strange the Sheriff's Department would need me to provide paperwork when they can just check the database themselves.
