    Strike Industries Mass Driver

I installed a Mass Driver compensator on my wife's G17 recently, took it out and the guide rod they supplied snapped after about 40-50 rounds. I have never had an issue with anything from them so I'm a bit surprised and kinda pissed because my wife is NOT a gun smith and this could have gotten ugly fast. I took the gun and was able to clear it after playing with it for a while since the guide rod broke inside the frame and I couldn't get to it and it jammed up the gun pretty good. I got the gun home and eventually got it apart without any damage, that could be seen anyway, and I'll try to test fire it with the factory guide rod installed and no compensator to make sure it functions as it should. I still can't believe this happened with this product, so anyone that has one be careful the guide rod can snap in 2.

It's a dumb design from an otherwise good company.

I just installed one with a cut slide on a glock 17 and it would not cycle correctly I ended up replacing the guide rod spring after seeing some one on you tube having the same problem I hope this doesn't happen to me

My take is irrational perhaps, but from my very limited experience, I've come to distrust Strike Industries products.

Made a big difference for my wife to shoot, she has wrist issues and it made the gun tolerable for her, and since its hers I wanted to make sure she could use it if it was needed.

Have you contacted Strike Industries about this issue?

I belive their warranty may cover this (parts breakage).

That guide rod was never designed to be stressed in the direction the comp is pushing it. I would try and get a refund, it's a bad design.
