Can anyone tell me if, and if so, how to check on an intrafamilial transfer approval with a
CFARS account.

I filed my paperwork 3 and 1/4 months ago and would like to know if I have been blessed by the state, I would like to add one of the submissions to my CCW.

No way to tell. They just send an approval letter but CFARS will show pending even after approval. My transfer was submitted in Oct and still not approved yet a month after that I registered an ar pistol and it was approved in a few weeks.

Does your issuing agency require that guns added to your CCW be in the database (AFS) first?

Rumor has it that a few do have that requirement, and bureaucratic inertia won't let them drop a requirement that the state does not have. (The state does not have that, because IAs are required to report the guns on the CCW to the state, and the guns get into AFS anyway)

If your IA does not actually require that, then you do not need any kind of confirmation - that filing documents a transfer that has already occurred.

San Bernardino County Sheriff Department requires the handguns, to be listed on the LTC permits they issue, to also be listed in AFS.
In addition, the handguns need to exactly match what is listed (make, model, caliber, barrel length, serial number).
If the handgun does not match the AFS listing, then it will not be approved for carry.
