    Paper patched bullets

Does the paper patch stay on the bullet the whole length of the barrel?
Does it fall off after leaving the barrel?
I'm thinking about a Martini Henry that even factory ammo was paper patched.
Modern reloading is a bit of a hassle because their .45 cal bore is larger than readily available .45 bullets I have for my trapdoor.

Are you thinking about reusing it?

I've had the same question about the patches. In regards to the paper or cloth keeping the bullet tightly engaged with the rifling and maintaining a gas seal.

Here's a vid of bullet w/paper patch fired from barrel.

It is in panoramic pic mode so you will need to side scroll to follow bullet.

Paper and cloth patching stays on the bullet and comes off after firing. The cloth patches can be picked up from the ground in front of the barrel.

            Thank you CWL and Fjold.
It appears that a patched undersized bullet can fill up the bore the full length of the barrel
