was how many guns were seized at airports in 2020.
Sacramento had a whopping 7.2, per 1 million passengers.
a number of other airports listed, but i did not quite catch the numbers. but all were about the same. none had a two digit number per 1 million paid passengers. and this was guns on ones person, in carry on and not declared in checked baggage. no break down given as to numbers in each listing.

Sounds really bad until one drills down to the detail and use common sense on what the number really means.

10 out of a million vs 5 out of a million is still minuscule, but if a low information person hears that the rate DOUBLED, they can easily be manipulated by the fear mongering gun grabbers.

I was mostly just teasing you about your short answer.

Either way...their performance is not good. A buddy of mine runs an airport for a large city...and he was sharing some of the spectacular fails...and that the amount of money spent vs. return is...well...wasted.

Personal anecdote, I've had about 20 clients over the past 4 years who mistakenly brought their CCW gun to Sac airport (usually in a backpack or laptop bag where they forgot they had placed their gun). These are just the ones who found their way to me for representation. Think how many others there are. Sac DA treats these cases pretty fairly.
