A bad/good night for a would be robber.

Ok, you guys gotta go see this one. Or perhaps somebody a bit more talented than me can post it here.

I love the quote from the store owner on why he was never afraid. As much as the press would have loved to bash the guy for owning a gun, they couldn't find anything to pick on him about. And it was too good of a story for them to ignore.

Haven't heard of a Hi-Point 995 used for self-defense before. Then again, it IS a carbine

EDIT: They called it a rifle and a shotgun, of course. Well, technically, it's a rifle, but calling it a shotgun...

He could have used the $40 toward an ATI stock for that ugly thing.

The article says he's been in business for 6 months, which probably explains the generosity. I doubt he'll be as well-inclined after a few years and 10 or so robbery attempts.

The robber played him for a fool, notice how he runs off when the owner had his back turned.

He should have made the BG take off his mask and look at the camera before he handed him the money.

If it was a gun instead of a "bat", the outcome would have been not so fortunate for either of them.

Notice that he picked up his bat as he ran out, probably needed it for his next store visit
