WORSE SALES PITCH ON THIS SITE OR OTHERS

It makes me laugh when I hear the things that people say to sell their overpriced guns
"My friend offer me $3000 for this gun but I sell it to you for $2900 "
or " I dont want to sell it so thats why I want $3000 for it " (when they contact me first )
"I dont see it on sale online so it must be very rare "
what ridiculous things you guys heard ?

Of course, the all-time classic is "Only 100 rounds down the pipe".

I had the opposite of a sales pitch on a Remington 700 once. The seller said he wanted to watch me shoot it before agreeing to do the transfer

Funniest ones are on Gunbroker with the red velvet background. ULTRA RARE, IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND, ONE OF A KIND.

        And then there’s THIS GUY:

From California, FBI confiscated, NO CA SALES! $15,000!

So he says he has owned that pistol for 20 years, and that it was seized by the FBI in 2008. So it was seized by the FBI from him and returned to him? There are some more questions that need answering even if the price was not obscene.

I figure that anybody whose English and spelling is that poor is going to be a scammer.

Who buys because of the Story? It either something you want or don’t and have researched the going prices, rarity.

Today you are better off bartering vs buying because it’s a sellers market.

Almost always agree. That said, I almost bought a Garand a few years ago that was found at the Battle of the Bulge with a note in its stock storage compartment to a family member (I think it was his wife but I can’t remember), along with his dog tags and a couple of other personal belongings.

THAT was something I almost bought because of the story but could not justify spending $8k for it.

I have a buddy whose dad was a district judge. When his dad passed away he inherited a mixed batch of guns. One was a very butchered up .410 double barrel pistol with an evidence tag hanging on it. It also had a double homicide and a suicide hanging on it. His sales pitch to me? "This thing freaks me out. Get it out of my house!". I did.
