Hi, new to the forum. Have searched extensively and haven't found anything recent. Sent in an intrafamilial transfer form in the beginning of September by mail and have not heard anything. They haven't even cashed the check yet. Does anyone know if this is normal?

Intrafamilial transfer timeline during COVID?
Tags: None -
Mine took 40 days to receive a reply letter and that was during non-covid days a few years ago. -
I sent mine into CA DOJ via USPS on August 17, 2020. They cashed my $19 check on November 19, 2020. I called them last week and sat on hold for an hour before they answered. They person that answered took my drivers' license number, put me on hold for a minute, and then told me it was in still in process. She said they were just starting August submissions.Comment

Why is the feedback important to you?Hi, new to the forum. Have searched extensively and haven't found anything recent. The OPLAW form documents a transfer that has already occurred. Your legal obligation is to file the properly-completed form with CA-DOJ - no acknowledgement required.
You might, for instance, want to list that gun on a CCW, where the issuing agency has the peculiar opinion that a gun must be listed in CA's AFS before the agency will allow the gun to be carried. (It's peculiar because the agency reports CCW info, including gun info, to CA-DOJ - effectively getting the gun info into AFS for you/them.) Waiting for the form to be processed might be useful in that situation.
But absent something like that, no need to wait for the state to run their administrative processes; you've done your part.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

Should have done it online. Then you would have had instant proof of submission and receipt, and been done with it.Hi, new to the forum. Have searched extensively and haven't found anything recent.
