Bought my first Glock...

Guess I did things a bit backwards than most people. My first couple handguns were Berettas (92FS, M9A1), then bought a 1911, followed by a Springfield XD. Love them all for different reasons, but got the itch for a Glock. Picked up a new Glock 17 Gen3 and actually really like it. Dont mind the grip angle and it fits my hand really well, and I'm surprised at the trigger. I've read countless accounts of Glock triggers being spongy and mushy, but this one actually has a nice clean, crisp break and a pretty decent reset.

Just going to swap the sights for a set of Ameriglo Hackathorns and a Vickers extended mag release and call it a day.

I suggest you get the extended slide lock as well.

Good for you. I never heard anyone say they regretted buying a Glock. It's the ubiquitous handgun platform. Good call on swapping out the factory placeholder sights.

Congrats, Vinnie. I like my Gen 3 G17 a lot, and shoot it well. Aside from range fun, it's my SD gun.

ETA: The only mod I've done is Dawson sights, otherwise, it is stock.

A fellow reverso! My other guns have spoiled me as far as triggers for accurate shooting. I love the ease of takedown and cleaning, available aftermarket parts and accessories.

Hate the trigger, not willing to spend money on a trigger that may only improve it ever so slightly. It has not jammed though, other than a few empty cases going to my head I feel like it will be reliable. But so are my Walther and CZ, 1911 and revolvers.

We've had Glocks in the household for over 15 years. My wife got hers first -G19 (I never thought much of them myself, thought they were ugly as heck). Once I shot hers, I went out and got my own G19.

My wife has difficulty shooting any handgun accurately but shoots the G19 very, very well and she loves it. So do I.

I added a G36 to have a slim single stack .45 for my CCW. Love that as well.

I hated Glocks until I shot one. Now I have a couple.

I suggest you get the extended slide release as well.

I use the trapezoidal release from Brass Stacker.

I would recommend that you get a Glock 34 extended slide release and have that installed. It works great on my G19's

Question for you all...compared to my Springfield XD the action seems to be almost crude. The XD's slide racks super smooth in comparison to the Glock. Racking the slide on the Glock almost feels clunky and crude in comparison. I'm guessing this is just how Glocks are?

Give it some time to function. Clear some wear points. There are also a couple areas to oil if you're so inclined. Glock reliability comes from loose tolerances. Similar to the ak. Shoot it and see if it gets better.
