Should LGSs start Costco style primer/ammo distribution.

Most gun stores are implementing limitations, I usually see 1k primers and 2-4 boxes of ammo per day but
I'm sure many have made contacts with friends and family that work in the industry/stores to get the hookups on delivery day.

And mind you that I have been told by management "Oh yeah, I know you, how many k do you want?" and clerks telling me, "just come back in line and get another one so my manager doesn't see."

I'm sorry, Costco at one point was limiting TP to one bulk pack per customer per month at some stores. They can do it because they already have the infrastructure, ID to enter, ID to buy. Workaround was of course a friend can buy you gift cards...

LGS should have ID checks and limit per customer account

What is Costco-style? I don’t know what that means.

Do you mean that reloading components and ammo should only be sold in bulk, like how most Costco products are sold? If gun stores wanted to do that, they could just sell by the case instead of by the box.

Are you saying that ID should be provided before buying primer and ammunition? I don’t think gun stores should be requiring unconstitutional restrictions for my constitutional rights. It’s bad enough to do the ammo background checks and provide ID, but now you want that on reloading components too?

Are you saying that you have to be a “member” in order to buy?

Or are you saying there needs to be a rationing? That a store will only sell me a single box of 20 rounds per day, and my ID is going to be collected so my name can be put on a list that says I’ve bought my ration for the day, and I have to come back tomorrow to buy more? Yeah, I really want a Communist experience when it comes to buying primer and ammo.

I voted 'capitalism', but with a qualification.

I think it's OK for a vendor to limit the amount one can buy; e.g. 3 boxes/caliber, in order to spread the wealth.

Personally, I do not want to deprive someone of enjoying the shooting sports, or having SD ammo. We're all in this together.

Preston, currently that is what most stores are doing but it might be to distribute their customer traffic, not making sure everyone gets some.

Customer traffic so they can have a stream of customers instead of one "in the know" that comes in and buys all their 9mm or all 10k of their SPP. Customers know that if they can't find any, why go to the store at all and stores lose sales on miscellaneous and impulse buys.

The question is should all enthusiast be able to get a little instead of a hoarding few that are potentially driving up the price with uncontrollable shortages in different regions.
