Ugh, I want it but that's only $100 less than I paid for my whole gun brand new. (SP-01) So hard to justify. Maybe if I competed.

As I had mentioned earlier, you can order the pro package for just over $300 and install it yourself in an hour and a half (including polishing with a rotary tool). CGW specifically mentioned their kits are designed for friendly end user installation.

You might want to consider the MCarbo spring kit for $30 . 6-7 lb. DA / 3-4 lb. SA . It makes a huge difference without paying a whole wallet.

The only difference I noticed between my CGW and CZ Customs vs MCarbo spring kit is shorter reset.

you can always just do the hammer and 85b trigger install.

The pro kit includes all the extra niceties to make the upgrade easier instead of piece mealing the parts. Back in the day we just did the hammer and mainspring change. You get the biggest improvement from the hammer.

Also you need to consider what purpose you intend to use the pistols. If it's for competition i would say go for it. Also depending on what type of competition would dictate which kit or hammer to choose.

If you have knowledge on how to adjust the safety on the SA/DA on an SP01 you can for go the adjustable sear.

But some parts from the pro kit i feel are a definite plus are the floating trigger pin which makes replacing the trigger spring easy, Their hammer fits real well compared to the CZC hammer.

I usually use CZ custom parts since their idpa and ipsc legal in production class. But i believe the pro kit is now approved as well. I have a prokit in my P01. I will say that the PCR my dad sent in for work is very smooth and has a nice pull. The pro kit i installed myself was a little too light for my liking. CGW was able to provide me the proper spring combo to fix the pull weight.

But if cost is a consideration. I would buy the hammer and a 15lb mainspring as well as the 85B trigger

the 15b trigger was recommended by CZ custom for an HD type of gun. The pro kit has a light 12 lb spring and they pair it with an extended firing pin to ensure proper primer detonation.

            Hope that helps.

Agree^^^ did it myself and it makes a big difference. Not hard to do, did some polishing while I had it apart.

OP: if you do order the kit for home installation, make sure to spend few extra dollars and also get CGW's hardened steel punch. Makes the job a lot easier.

Go for ot, it is worth it, you will feel the trigger difference. Get the FO FS and adjustable rear sight, bushing, steel guide rod. Good luck with your project.

Agree, except about stainless steel guide rod.

My $0.02. CZ metal frames are heavy enough and do not need added weights of SS guide rod. So I use factory polymer guide rod, which lasts a long time and is cheap to replace. The flex of polymer guide rod also theoretically helps the gun cycle better. Lastly, some CZ owner have reported frame from SS guide rod.

Lots to consider. I appreciate the advice!

I customized my SP01 slowly, starting with the cajun short reset kit (SRS1) . Then i did a little 25cent polish job. That alone drastically dropped DA and SA pull. I highly recommend this kit if money is an option. Best 80$ i ever spent on a gun.
