    Buying Ammo

Has anyone joined Target Sports USA PRIME AMMO Membership?

I have my FFL 03 and can have ammo shipped to me. I've been looking online for the last 6 months and when there is a "deal" as deals go these days, they are sold out in minutes.

I was wondering what Calgunners have to say about this "service" if you have actually used it. Is it worth the $95 per year? Have you heard anything good or bad about it?

    Thanks guys.

    1. Treat all guns as if loaded (even when you know they aren't).
    2. Never point the muzzle at anything you aren't willing to destroy.
    3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
    4. Know your target and what is beyond it (avoid all collateral damage).

I used TS Prime a few years ago and it was great. Paid for itself very quickly with the discount and shipping.

If all you buy anyway are free-shipped cases when they go on sale during not-2020-years (my use case for TS) their prime membership is probably not worth it. If you try a box of this or a box of that a lot, then the shipping feature is worth it.

Last year I understand it may have helped people score ammo right when it came in, but you still had to camp at your computer and get lucky.

When they had ammo in regular quantities and prices it was great. Since August 2020 not so much since you can't get savings on what isn't available.

I paid. Once I started to recieve the "offers' emailed and texted to me, I realized the prices were not as advertised. I called and inquired as to why, and was told the "ammo manufactures" set the price. I explained to them after tax, and FFL fees, it wasn't a deal for anything they were selling. They refunded my $100.

Not worthwhile atm. If you're lucky enough to find something available buy it by the case for free shipping. Mine expired 3 months ago hard to find anything in stock unless you're glued to your phone or computer.

OP, you also need your COE to get ammo shipped directly to you.
I have both and the membership. All well worth it. While plebs were lining up around corners to buy ammo, I was still getting it shipped to my door.

They have been getting small shipments here and there, the membership helps when I want to buy smaller quantities less then a case, it is well worth it. The discount these days is not as much as it used to be, those days are behind us for another year or two. But any discount helps.

Sorry, I forgot to state that I have my COE also.

Now is not the time to be paying for an ammo prime membership IMO. I can also order from TargetSports direct to my door, and I have ordered from them for years - and for the past 6 months they have had nearly ZERO ammo I want, and the rare occasions they do not near a price even close to reasonable.

I have been buying ammo from Bass Pro lately way, way cheaper and free ship to store. Who cares if I have to pay the $1 fee when I am getting ammo at half the price TargetSports is asking.

No way I am paying for Prime right now at TSUSA. Maybe when things get back to normal, then sure.

I've been a prime member for a long time. It's great - when there's ammo. Having no ammo is a new phenomenon. Not worth it at this point. It was great when you buy a few thousand rounds at a time but I'm letting my membership expire because there's no ammo to be bought so it's pointless.

All I'm seeing is "Notify"... never heard of that brand before. But they seem to have a LOT of it.
