Marc Weber Tobais Demonstrates that Gun/Trigger Locks Ineffective

I searched and searched but could not find anything posted about this, so here's some videos of Marc Tobais defeating various approved trigger and gun locks:

An eleven year old removes three popular trigger locks from a rifle

Security vulnerabilities of gun cable locks

The Master Lock Model 106 can be easily compromised

Many gun trigger locks are not secure. They can be removed easily from a weapon

The DAC gun lock can be removed with a straw from a weapon

You should add a link to the video of the finger-tip push botton lock box that opens when you tap it on top.

In the second video regarding gun cable locks, he recommends storing guns securely in a gun safe. I wonder how many gun safes can be 'bumped' with a bump key hehe. I bet the combination lock on the gun safe is hardest to get by, considering that a higher quality combo lock do not reduce the total combinations via ~3 digit tolerance and other tricks.

Call me crazy, but if your kid even knows what a bump key is for, let alone has one, you're already way behind the game.

Those "Childsafe" locks make great targets, though!

Bump keys are pretty common knowledge among kids, you have to realize that kids have access to all kinds of information via the internet these days.

There is a great article in Wired about him. He even can hack a medeco3 lock in under 20 seconds. Those are high security locks rated for a 15 minute attack.

They also claim to not be vulnerable to a bump key attack. However its so easy a 12 year old can do it. These are the same locks used at the White House (Medeco M3).

You can even open them with a screwdriver.

Holy Crap Batman! I have a buddies rifle and he lost the key to the cable lock. The pliers trick really worked and I had the lock off in a couple of minutes. Dang, it's true!!! Oh thanks for helping me get that dang lock off
