Part of it here to get you started:

Also, some FFLs have their own requirements so if you have a place or two in mind, call them to see what they will accept.

      Bring with you:
Valid FSC card with correct spelling of name

Valid CA DL or ID, if it says "Federal Limits Apply" in top right hand corner bring your Passport OR Birth Certificate
If the address you put on the ATF form 4473 doesn't match what is on your license, then bring something to prove you live there. A lease, cable or PGE bill, DMV Veh Reg

Is it a handgun you are buying? If yes bring second proof of CA residency, this can be DMV Veh Reg, recent PGE Bill, there's a list online.

You need to tell CA you own a Certified lockbox or safe, so have the Make and Model handy.

Bring a good attitude and a smile. Call the LGS beforehand to get info, some places, like us, require an appointment.

Is it a handgun? Cant have a threaded barrel or have magazines that accept more than 10 rounds

Is it a long gun? Make sure it is 2020 CA Compliant, there's a flowchart at the top of the Home page. Basically, if it is a Magazine fed, Semi-Auto, Center fire rifle, it cannot have a pistol grip, any kind of adjusting stock (including thumbhole), cannot have a flash hiding device, and cannot have a forward pistol grip. If its an AR15 and you aren't sure, separate the upper from the lower.

No, you cannot buy sale or trade magazines that hold more than 10 rounds...yet.

The fees are $10 for the transfer plus $37.10 for the DROS fee. The wait is a minimum of 10 days.
Best Collateral Pawn in SSF, we are doing PPTs by appointment. Call 650 589 4433, ask for Rowland or Ron

Thanks, it's a pre-64 Win model 70. I own a gun safe, no issues there.
