Not a charitable gift
That being said 9mm goes for .60/rd, 5.56 goes for .70/rd. If you knock ten cents/rd off those prices you're doing him a favor. And that's for quality stuff, Federal/Winchester/Speer etc brass-cased.Comment

I’m looking to sell a coworker some ammo, 500 rds or less.
What’s a buddy price for 9mm, 5.56 and .308? What’s the street price for these?
Not looking to get rich, but not giving him my lunch either. Not a charitable gift as we both make about the same, I’m guessing. I just want to offload, and he needs to pile up. He’s not down to zero.
If my local LGS charges 30% to consign sell the ammo, just sell them to him at 70% of street price?
.
I gave 300 rounds of 9mm for $100 to a friend that bought my Sig Legion X5 for $900.Comment

$15/50 for 9mm
$12/20 5.56
$18/20 7.62***Honesty is the Foundation of One's Character***

Go to a site like Ammo seek and pull up prices....
My buddies will pay market- just as I would pay market.

Normally I would sell a “buddy” or friend something like ammo at the price I paid for it, if it was excess ammo I won’t use any time soon. But if it something I am going to have to replace in the near future than I would have to consider what my replacement cost is going to be, especially if we are talking about large quantities.Comment

fair question.
@beanz2
are you selling him a few hundred rounds from a supply that won't be threatened without war within the next 10 years?
i would just sell him the ammo for cost with the caveat that he must sell you the same amount at the same price if you ever need to replace it (or within a reasonable time frame). that way he pays the difference if prices don't go back down.Last edited by theLBC; 12-29-2020, 3:57 PM.Comment

Give it to them. Have them replace it in kind when they can find affordable ammo at more 'normal' prices.Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

As others said, sell the ammo for what you paid for including tax. If you wanna make money sell it to someone you don't know.Originally posted by FjoldI've been married so long that I don't even look both ways when I cross the street.Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program.
