Ever think about starting over?

Was out in the garage loading some ammo for a shoot tomorrow with my son and it just dawned on me. I've got a bunch of guns that mean nothing to me. I went through the whole collection and in handguns I have four of them that I will not part with, other than that I can't bring myself to much care.

I'm thinking of just cleaning house and buying a few high end guns I've been looking at and calling it a day.

Big question I can't answer is will I regret it? Hard to say, and that is the only thing stopping me. Anybody been through this?

if you think you may want to bang em again then keep them.

then there are those that the bang is not wrth the cleaning it takes, dump em and find one you like.

one good bang is worth 5-6 lousy bangs but a lousy bang is beter than not getting laid at all

If you don't have to sell, don't!
In my opinion they are nothing like old girlfriends, they are more like family members.
As time goes on yoy form different relationships with members of your family, or even your circle of friends.
Although your taste in firearms change, they hopefully were all bought for a specific reason, and will serve a purpose again!
If you bought some guns on a whim, possibly those should be let go, or if you don't like specific function, no reason to keep those either.
If they can't be replaced in Cali, and you plan on staying by all means hold onto those, and if you do plan on selling any go ahead and pm me and I'll help alleviate your pain.

I have sold a few guns in my day and I have regretted every sale.

I always sold off the guns in the back of the safe that I "never use". After i sold them I missed them and wanted to take them out again. I hope to never sell a gun again.

I cleaned out the gun collection a month ago and sold several rifles includeing my Milsurp and havent looked back. Its not how many you have but how well you shoot them, if it means somthing too you than keep, if its a dime a dozen and you never use it then sell it.

Trust me don't do it. I thought I wanted to reset my gun collection. Started by getting rid of my winchester C&R rifles, lever actions, and a started on my S&W revolvers. Sold my K22 before I came to my senses. I wouldn't say my collection is better or worse for selling off the rifles and getting others, just different. But my collection is definitely worse without the K22.

You have two trains of thought.
One - keep every gun you can get your hands on in case they ban them.
Two - Keep and or purchase the guns that are most suited for your needs and likes.
I'm in the same boat as you, I have a bunch of guns I'll probably never shoot again because I have a couple guns I really enjoy shooting.

Over the years I have gone thru the clear my safe routine a few times as my taste changes or I want to up grade. There have only been a few instances when I regretted getting rid of a particular gun. If you want to get rid of them or trade them I would make sure the cash goes back into the collection.

I have only sold one gun and it was because I really needed the cash. I have since vowed to never sell another gun and for 11 years I have held true to that vow.

I don't see why having them locked up in a safe would hurt anything. Personally I would just keep them because once they're gone, they're gone!!

Maybe one day you can pass them on to your son and to him they will be invaluable because they were "his dads." My father has already allocated who gets what guns between his three sons before he passes on. This means a lot to us. Think of the long term, you more than likley will regret letting them go. I say keep them locked away until your son can have them.

I regret selling a couple, but unfortunately, I couldn't make it as a male stripper, so a gun is the next best way to get a good amount of money quickly..haha
