Most likely 5.8x42. They are too proud to be using a Russian caliber.

            Still, F them.

I really feel for the Taiwanese. I bet they will be invaded before the next US presidential election, while Joe Demento gets bribed to look the other way. The CCP will not let this golden opportunity go to waste.

That's a scary thought, but not unrealistic. I hope you're wrong.

Yep, on the 5.8x42mm DBP10 cartridge.

The rumor/joke is that it's an AR18 clone in 5.8x42mm.

You do have to admit there's been very little innovation in small arms design in the last 50 years. Pretty much everything out there is a minor variation on the same few designs. Most everything "new" in the last couple decades is just trying to combine the best features of different designs that are already out there. And what new has come out, either is a niche thing, or it's just not fundamentally "better" enough to upend the industry.

Personally, I think the innovation really peaked in the 1960's for small arm rifles.

You mean their SIG P250 clone (QSZ-92)

Oh wait, SIG copied it (QSZ-92) to make the P250.
Which they later product improved and made it striker fired to become the P320.

                              Yeah! USA! USA! USA!

We'd NEVER steal gun designs! ...except for the 1903 Springfield, which the US eventually paid royalties to Mauser...

...but that's it ... uh, except maybe the M60 machinegun from the German MG42

...but that's really it... "cough" Bill Ruger and the Nambu pistol "cough"

OK, maybe a few guns, but NEVER technology! ...except for ballistic missile tech and the moon mission rockets...
