    Ship My Gun service

I tried to do a search for Ship My Gun on this forum but the search crashed, too many possible responses I guess.

Anyone actually use "Ship My Gun' for a handgun? I have a very nice 1919 Colt New Service that I'm thinking of putting on Gun Boards or Gun Broker but the actual shipping of it is problematic. I have used UPS in the past but each subsequent shipment was more difficult than the previous one plus it was pretty expensive.

I'm also going to approach my local dealer to see what they can do. They are active on Gun Broker so shipping firearms is nothing new for them.

Your success or horror stories will be appreciated!

I would check as many local gun shops as you can. I found one here that does it for $25.

I’ve used them a couple of times. I think they’re a service from Budsgunshop.com and once you book a shipping label from them, the paperwork is through Bud’s. The times I used them, they shipped through UPS. There was an initial problem with their website forms and my Safari browser, but I eventually figured it out.

I was going to try them, I "know" a guy (online) that's done it a few times and says it's pretty painless. The seem really reasonable.

I used it once without any issues.

I’ll go out on a limb and say that for every gun shipped with this service there 50-100K shipped successfully via Fed Ex or UPS. What is the problem with them?

They give you a UPS or FedEx label, but you get a nice break on the shipping at Bud's corporate rate. https://www.shipmygun.com/go/

I'm going to go out on a limb and say shipmygun is used a lot more than people think.

I've used them a few times.. and it's quite a bit cheaper through shipmygun than doing it yourself.

Certainly are for handguns. Long guns might be different.

The more, the merrier as Bud's can negotiate better rates based on the increase in volume.

I used Shipmygun to ship a Luger to a gunsmith. No problem, and much cheaper than FedEx or UPS. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

MUCH better prices with SMG. Unless you just like spending more money.

I shipped handguns several times with UPS when I was in CA. It was a real ordeal and very expensive, $90 the last time I did it 4-5 years ago. Each time the counter person did everything they could not to accept the shipment.

Looking for a method less expensive and less painful.

                            Thanks all!
