    DROS wait time

    Gentlemen,

I am a Marine officer in Iraq right now. I am in the process of acquiring all the pieces I need to build my first AR-15. The problem I am having is I get back right before dove hunting season and would love to take this with me but I get back 6 days before I take off for my trip.

Is there anyway that I can do the DROS paperwork here for my lower receiver, get it notarized by a lawyer here and mail it back and then be able to pick it up upon my return?

I really want to be able to take it with me!

    Thanks,

    Semper Fidelis,

Hm... that's a good question, Sir. I honestly have no idea but here's a free bump in the hopes that someone else does. Semper Fi.

I wouldn't do it. But that doesn't mean you might not find a dealer that would.

I would recommend forgetting about the notarization and simply seeing if you can find a dealer that will start your DROS by you faxing or e-mailing a copy of your DL and then reverfying everything when you come to pick up with fresh and new copies.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

It might be a bit easier to hit the birds with a shotgun...

But really, how about your wife if married or mom/dad go in and DROS in their name, then give the lower to you as a welcome home gift.

I've heard it can happen if you find a willing FFL...good luck on that one. Your best bet would be to have your wife or parents do it for you...as suggested by hawk.

That would be very interesting. I'd pay to see that.

Hawk you know what. i would be willing to take that bet actually.

Only problem is the SDZ and that 5th rule of safety.. "know your target and what lies behind it."
