    Soaking in Kerosene: Questions

I have heard that if you have a really dirty gun, you can soak all the parts in kerosene.

Is this safe on the bluing?

Sweet. I learned the hard way with Hoppes 9 bore solvent. Some of it dribbled down my stock ---- varnish be gone! Bluing be gone!

What pissed me off is that there wasn't a warning on the label. Pretty lame-o.

I use kerosene for gun cleaning in my cheap chinese made parts washer.

Sometimes I end up soaking parts for a long time, like overnight, to get the gunk off. Never had any trouble with blueing.
