Ballistol x Glocks = glubey goodness

I got put onto Barristol when i bought an M1 garand from an oldtimer...Until then i was mostly using CLP Hoppes or rem oil spray..

Barristol smells funky but it is hands down my favorite cleaner and lubricant..it takes noticeably more crud off of guns that were previously cleaned with rem oil, it doesnt gunk or puddle up like others...it leaves a very even coating that is silky smooth.

The coating on OEM glock slide and barrels feels so damn good! The barrel and slide seem to glide much nicer...overall the slide just feels nice to stroke LOL....

Ive been putting a nice layer of Ballistol and then scrubbing every glock in the collection, ill put it on thick, remove carbon, then before assembly i will use a Qtip and remove excess so that only a very small film, even with a very minor amount it noticeably changes the feel of the slide/barrel movement on the polymer...i havent tried it on my ARs yet.

Anyone have any pointers for BALLISTOL is it better to run wet on my ARs, i know that glocks dont require much glube so i keep it lighter. I just got a m92 beretta that seems to collect alot of carbon after only 20-30 rounds with rem oil,i was gonna clean her next.

What about 1911s? Shes also up for her first clean in five years (safe queen problems)

To quote a commercial, "I put that s##t on everything". Metal, wood, hinges.

Plus I guess I'm one of the few who loves the smell.

It has a long history and has served well.

      I love Ballistol.

Over time, it does dry out. For cleaning, I’ll use it then coat the bore with M1.

If you think Ballistol is great, then try "Ed's Red". You'll probably pee your pants over the difference... And don't forget the anhydrous lanolin in the gun oil/lubricant recipe.

If my memory serves correct I think I read here that ballistol is one of the few gun oil type lubricants that doesn't affect wood, as in your wood stock or grips.
Occasionally you'll see older guns that have darker colored wood where it touches the metal that's been over lubricated with other different products.

Of course there's other ways to protect your seal the wood but some manufacturers don't do it from the factory.

I've used it for decades on all my guns. A great product.

Also it mixes with water. I use 1/4 ballistol and 3/4 hot water to clean after shooting corrosive ammo. It works great. I put it in a spray bottle. When the water evaporates off it leaves a coat of ballistol behind.

I get it in pint bottles Brownells.

All things old become new again to somebody. Try plain old mineral oil and report back.

Glocks need lube too. It's only fair to all the other firearms.

Ballistol. Even homeless bums think it stinks.

"combination of medicinal grade mineral oil, alkaline salts, alcohol, Benzyl Acetate and oil from vegetal seeds created Ballistol, which is short for "ballistic oil."
