    Is it just me...

...or has there been an increase in Private Firearms Sales at Marketplace section? Most of the guns are still new and have low round count.

Have folks realized that the increase in gun sales back in November '08 are getting rid of them already? Has the gun scare became a reality that there is no scare and now calgunners are getting rid of their guns?

Just wondering, since whenever I check the Marketplace there wasn't as much guns for sale than before.

maybe the fact that more and more people are losing their jobs everyday, so they need cash?

    There could be MANY reasons.

I've noticed the same thing. A good friend of mine recently sold his entire collection of handguns and long guns due to the fact he was laid off from Yahoo over six months ago.

I felt bad for him at first but when I found out he was still driving a $65K vehicle with another in the garage, the pity only goes so far.

Actually I've noticed many guns are not being sold anymore. When I first joined, the FS forums were awash in C&R rifles. Now I only see my Mauser and a couple Mosins and such.

That is kind of the story of my aunt and uncle, they were very well off and then lost just about everything since it was invested in the real estate market. At first I felt kind of bad about it, then I realized they are still throwing money away on stupid crap like cruises and cars and other ridiculous stuff when we are in the middle of a friggin recession! No pity from me, they still act like snobs

Or it could just be many Calgunners racked up debt buying guns and ammo and the piper is here to get paid.

I don't like to sell guns at all. Now i'll trade for something that goes bang, but sell......? Let's see how bad it gets.

How about sellers asking the buyer to complete payment at the shop they were buying the firearm from? Obviously some people are spending beyond their means right now.

It seems like a lot of the same items are up for sale now, less variety. A lot of so-called SHF firearms.

I'd love to see more C&R stuff up for sale.

The good stuff in the FS forum still sells just as fast as ever when priced accordingly, especially higher end guns. I've been keeping a general eye on EBRs and have noticed the prices coming down a bit. Not alot, but a bit and the overpriced ones are sitting a long time before you see the **New Lower Price** edits in the ads or the seller gets mad and deletes the item.

Also have seen the overpriced ammo sitting a long time before the same price drop edits.

                    Some revolvers.
                    Some rifles.
Back to owning some of those "polymer" guns.

And so many of my buddies were calling me nuts for buying up 1000's of rounds when it was cheap"er".

There are people in trouble out there. A friend of mine is in the process of liquidating pretty much all of his thirty plus year collection. I PPTed a couple of unfired, with box and papers pieces from him. He's out of work, close to foreclosure, yadda yadda yadda.

He is the last person I would ever expect to be parting with his goods. But he has to, if he doesn't lose his house first.
