When it comes to ammo, it doesn't matter what you paid for it - what matters is how much it will cost you to replace it. Selling it for less than it costs to replace it doesn't add up if it's a caliber you still shoot.

Even at 20 cents, its cheaper than going prices. I refuse to rip off fellow firearms owners because the market will bear it. Sorry, but a fair price is not the same as market prices during a shortage. Just my 2 cents.

              Exactly this.
It's great for the uninitiated that there are others willing to invest their own hard-earned money to purchase, store, accept the risk of loss or damage, and then pass it on with no reward at whatever time that uninitiated person feels compelled to finally acquire such item.

Why do people not expect the same treatment when it comes to real estate, gold, stocks, or any other commodity?

My friends and I snatch up 1000 rounds of 9mm or .45acp when available at BassPro, or reloads at the range on our own time and then during our range days together, boxes of rounds manage to fall into each other's bags. We all refuse to pay 50 cents + a round; I don't care what the climate is.

                      Yep, it's a caliber I don't shoot.

Oh, I also sold two rifles last week. Guess what? I gave the buyer 150 rounds of ammo for the two rifles. Didn't use an FFL on that one either. (I did for the rifles). I suppose I just like to live dangerously. At least I'm not a coward and bow down to tyrannical laws.

About a couple of weeks ago, gunstores in the Prescott AZ area = $0.80 - $1.50 per 9x19mm round, depending on make and bullet weight/type.
