I wonder if it has something to do specifically with Beretta products. Last year I tried to place an order with Optics Planet for a Beretta slide and got the same no california shipping response.

Strange, since Beretta USA does ship to California.

LOTS of places have not fully updated the packaging with the necessary prop65 warning.
Older stock can't be shipped into CA anymore unless a warning label is manually added to the packaging.
Distributers don't want to deal with the hassle so they simply decline to ship items that don't meet the new prop65 requirements.

Thinking about buying some shirts from Fleet Farm (A Tractor Supply Hardware type place I gether), but no joy ... thanks to Prop 65.

Check out the last line in the list of specifications, of a shirt:

Everything comes with those stickers now, even a new Les Paul. California should print up "non-cancerous" stickers for the few things that don't cause cancer.

            Not everything.
Only the things that can be shipped into CA.
Because if they don't have the sticker or the warning printed directly on the packaging, they can't be shipped into CA.

I was in a bread-aisle at the grocery store, and every shelf had a 'Prop 6' warning card, white background, red letters.

              Bread.

The ludicrous extremity to which this law has taken hold appears to be selective and politically motivated, to the point now that if everything carries a label, any intent the law had to warn people about serious and real exposures that can cause cancer now goes ignored.

No California native calls it "Cali"...
Minor observation aside, that's horrible they won't even ship a spring. Some vendors on Amazon wouldn't even ship an LED lightbulb here so I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I am.

Just ignore Optics Planet and look elsewhere. They are classic pants wetters.

I still haven't learned my lesson. Ordered a $300 part from them a month ago, showed instock and still instock. Two weeks go by and I get a email that shipment has been delayed. After a 3rd week of no progress I submit a cancel. The 4th week goes by and the order is not cancelled and nor has it shipped. I just reached out to customer service whom let me know it's already set aside for me and will ship out anyday now, I let him know him know I just want to cancel, he let me know he cancelled it but it still shows processing on the website.

If it actually ships, decline the package so it goes back to them.
That way, you have the tracking number scans as proof that they got it back when you call your credit card company and dispute the charge and explain that you told them to cancel and they still shipped so you declined the shipment so it would go right back to them.

I am pretty sure this has been going on since the "parts kit" ban came into place, I think it was October 2018 but I am not sure. After that, no one would send any piece of a "high capacity" magazine including springs.

Edit: Nevermind, I guess it was January 2014. Wow, that went by fast.

Just move on from that vendor. There are plenty of other places that will take your money and give you better service.
