Gun choice

Of the choices you mentioned only the Glock 26 ( of any generation) takes the more standard double stack style magazines. I'm pretty sure those are going to be cheaper and easier to find even in a crisis situation than the single stack type magazines needed by the other two models you mentioned.
I don't know if you're out of state or law enforcement but I think some of those guns are off roster so I'll mention that if you are law enforcement you'll also see a lot more double stack style Glock magazines on everyone's gun belt. Which might be nice for you in an emergency situation.
Yes, the Glock 26 is a little bit thicker than the others but depending on your carry style and your body size that less than half an inch approximate distance in thickness might not matter.
Lastly, I can't speak for lefties but I would think having a ambidextrous slide release gives it another point in its favor.Last edited by sealocan; 12-03-2020, 9:13 PM.Comment

Any of them are excellent. The 43x and 48 will be slightly thinner than the 26. The 26 is an outstanding carry gun.
Are you intending to use a red dot on your carry gun? If not, get the less expensive non-MOS version.
Another option: The Walther PPQ SC comes with a reversible magazine release and ambi slide stop, and possibly the best striker-fired trigger.
Even at 15 yards, groups are predictably tight.Comment

Well I’m 6’2 270 with a gut lol. I want to carry appendix. I’m not sure on the red dots yet. I’ve never personally shot with one on a handgun. I did buy one and just fry fire practice with it and apparently I have an astigmatism so that sucks. I agree having the double stack mags do help. But sometimes I feel like a single stack would be a better carry choice for a bigger guy. But I could be totally wrong. I’m not against non Glocks I just know I can get all 3 of these right now.Comment

OP,
Just an fyi, an HK USP, if not a left handed Variant 2 version, can be made into a left handed version for the cost of a $45 part.Comment

Ow, ow, ow... my brain is hurting...
Glock? No. Just... NO.
3rd Gen. S&W - comes WITH ambi-controls, is more reliable, has better grips, and is slimmer as a single stack, than a 10rd. Glock gelding.
Appendix carry?!?! What did your nads ever do to YOU?!
Just spring for the sex-reassignment surgery; it's cheaper, and less painful, than doing it yourself with appendix carry and a minor caliber.
Spring for a DECENT OWB holster, and learn how to carry properly. Take a good defensive pistol course, and get USED to drawing from it.
In time, you may want to go with an IWB holster. ON THE HIP. NOT, "WV vasectomy" style.

Yes I’m exempt. Sorry I guess I should of clarified that. I was refining wearing a shirt. No Jacket or cover shirt or vest anything like that. I have the Glock 19 Gen5 also the Sig p365 and the SAS. I also have the vp9 optic ready and others. But being a bigger guy with a gut and shooting left handed I’m running into issues with carrying.Comment

Off topic but, HK P2000 SK, VP9 SK have ambi controls and are in the Glock 26 size. Just throwing this out there since you already have a VP9.Comment
