Daily I click through the market place hoping for a "find" especially if I have disposable income to spend. Christmas bonus is coming so I look intently; and as of late I've noticed a few (not a lot) of fire sale type ads that get jumped on pretty quick. The transactions seem real. Three months ago I rarely saw one; now its a few each week - is there a "dump" coming from those newbies that went out and bought guns or people that held off on selling during the summer and now don't want to miss out? I just get that feeling some will fear "not being able to sale" under Joe in the future and "better sale now." Could be some good times for us buyers ahead? Or no?

Gun Dump Approaching?
1. Compared to what?
2. At what cost?
3. What hard evidence do you have?
T.S. debunking the Left in 3 simple questions.Tags: None -
There will be a dump just from the calendar year PPT limit which gets reset Jan 1. Expect to see some nice stuff, though perhaps not cheap.
As for the new folks dumping guns, I can't get excited about G3 Glocks or nanny-state Shields etc. -
I don't think you'll see a lot of dumps her on this site. I don't think a lot of those new, liberal gun owners frequent this site or are members. THey'd probably me more inclined to go to an LGS and sell it back to them or a pawn shop for low dollars just to get rid of it, if they even do, like others have mentioned, they probably won't be anything that that exciting or desirable.
I'm worried that many of the new gun owners may even forget about their firearms. Just put it in a drawer or lock it up somewhere, never fired, never taken to the range, never took the time to actually learn how to use them properly, never practice. Some may even get stolen and never reported.Last edited by Vinnie Boombatz; 12-03-2020, 9:45 AM.sigpicComment

Or very worse yet, leave it lying around uncontrolled and loaded and some child starts playing with it and either shoots him or her self with it or another playmate....a tragedy for the kids involved and also for all responsible gun owners who will be grouped with irresponsible ones and subject to calls for more gun laws and restrictions.I'm worried that many of the new gun owners may even forget about their firearms. I see mostly people dumping their excess or unwanted firearms. Not a lot of recently purchased stuff.
LOL. A big dump of firearms is not likely in my opinion. There will be more unrest when some of these "high profile" hyped cases go to trial. Some officers are going to be found not guilty or plead to reduced charges.
And then there is Dementia Joe and his lefty buddies already at work on gun controls and gun buyer suppression California style. See the pistol brace crisis, the introduction of Commiefornia clone ammunition laws introduced in other states, etc.
Non-gun owners who bought guns because of unrest recently, are probably not going to give those up unless they are pressed for cash. The danger of unrest is not over. The Floyd case and others are going to push us right back into it. Along with BLM and Antifa. This time the Dims might not fund the violence, but it will happen anyway. This will be a big reminder to those living anywhere near a city.
In addition, within one micro second of Dementia Joe announcing any type of gun control. The buying will continue. Joe's stated policies are so radical, that any step toward them will panic everyone.
Back in the day.... People have such short memories.
Sandy Hook; I remember when Obama announced his desire to implement more, relatively mild, gun control to limit magazine capacity. We saw AR mags out of stock within a week, and going for up to $100 each on the secondary market.
You couldn't buy a quality bolt carrier group, or you had to pay scalper prices. Like a new BCM BCG going for $400. Almost every major AR part was low stock or out of stock.
When Obama ran for reelection there was a run too.
My opinion is that there could be a lull, but the Dems are so radical now that we are sitting on a hair trigger of panic buying.
And I think it will be years before ammo inventories are replenished, if ever. I'm looking for any return to sanity in the ammo market to buy and add to my stack.
I'm even considering reloading supplies, if the prices and availability return to more normalcy.Last edited by ScottsBad; 12-03-2020, 10:12 AM.sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.Comment

^ This is so true. I recently went shooting with a friend who bought a handgun when Obama was elected. He had me go first. I’m pretty sure it’s because he forgot how to use it.sigpicComment

Hopefully it will be a dump of real estate in free states, if Joe & The Hoe entice the Fed to raise interest rates. Just accepted a very high offer over asking on a house in Boise, so after escrow closes, hoping for a massive dump/burst bubble, so we can go in again for a second assault. May turn a new purchase into a cheap rental while the market eventually comes back after that, so we will watch.Comment

I'm in South Carolina and on Armslist I see a TON of 7.5" 556 AR15s. I always account this for people who thought it would be awesome to have a short barreled 556 AR pistol and then realize the deafening blast and concussion from them. Most silencer companies wont warranty their silencers below a 10.5" 556 barrel.
Funny thing is, they're always priced around current new prices.
I picked up a 5.5" AR9 and an 8" AR10mm and love them both. Perfect for home defense, my lady keeps the AR9 at her place and I keep the 10mm at my place. I think with them both being pistol calibers, the noise and concussion are not quite the same as the rifle calibers.
The 9 puts out about 450 Ft.Lbs of energy and the 10 puts out about 750 Ft.Lbs of energy.
A 7.5" 300BLK puts out about 350 Ft.Lbs of energy with the subsonic rounds and about 950 Ft.Lbs for supersonic. A 7.5" 556 is throwing about 700 Ft.Lbs supersonic and I wouldn't even know how a subsonic 556 round performs.
At the 7.5" 300BLK ballistics, you may even get better energy with a .45acp handgun. So my feeling is what is the point, especially at $1.50+ per round for subsonic 300 BLK under current market conditions.
With 9mm and 10mm being nearly the same in price currently, and the ease of finding solid 10mm defense rounds right now, I am content with my choices.Last edited by The Good Doc; 12-03-2020, 12:08 PM."There's still crime in the city, but it's good to be free"

Would these "newbies" place an ad on CalGuns? Sadly, I think most of the clueless would simply take them back to a gunshop and sell them at a huge loss.Comment

My guess would be that people fear being able to sale in the future under our “president elect” and are selling high or at cost just to unload excess inventory, just a theory thoughComment

I predict that there won't be a noticeable dump for at least 2 years, if ever.
I think a lot of naive people got an eye-opening to the fact that Civil Society, even in the U.S.A., is not as stable as we would like to think it is.
That's something that once you notice it takes a while to forget.Comment
