    hunting on private land

    so ive finally found someone who verbally agreed to let me hunt on their land (200 acres). he is a vineyard owner and has a BIG pig prob. how do i proceed now, like i said he has verbally agreed to show me around and let me on his property. what is the best way i can get him to stick to his word? also what are some things i can do to make sure i get to keep this privilege?

    RESPECT is the #1 thing. Only go where he says you can, be mindful of where your bullets may end up. Find out about the neighbors, if they hear a shot will they call the Police? Get it in writing and make sure you have your license and pig tag.

        Pick up any trash that you see. When you leave, stop by the house and ask if there is someplace particular that he would like you to dump that trash.

        Also if he has barbwire fences stop by a farm supply store and pick up a pair of fencing pliers, some pole clips and some staples and fix any broken spots in the fence. If you don't know how, ask the owner. He'd be glad to show you and it will show him that you are willing to help out.

                I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

                    thanks guys, exactly what im lookin for! i think im going to go up there a day early help on the ranch, and ask him to give me a tour. i have a handheld gps so im going to enter in his property as he says some of his neighbors "points guns at people"
