    Your favorite competitive shooting?

Just wondering what sorts of competition that folks enjoy. I'll start off: I do highpower, CMP and are going to start Sporting Rifle, but really enjoy cast bullet silhouette. At our club, this involves rifles with cast bullets at normal cast velocities (1400-1600fps) on the four species of iron critters out to 200 meters. With these velocities, judging holdover for all distances is a worthwhile challenge, and it is fun to hear them go clang and topple over.

I don't suppose you were in Lincoln on the 16th-17th for the big smallbore meet, were you? That is my club.

High Power service rifle. I had just started to experiment (rifle/loads) with F and Palma. But the hoarders have limited the availablity of the reloading supplies I use.

Was heavily into USPSA for a while, high power before that.

Lately though, I've fallen back into the calming and friendly club blackpowder shoots. No tension, no "hurry hurry hurry" against a clock, no hot brass flying around, no worries if someone is going to break the 180, no danger of bullet frag coming back.

One shot every few minutes or so, easy talk with good friends, the great smell of blackpowder or Pyrodex, plenty of time between turns to get some water or soda, have some lunch or go to the restroom.

and...I can back my truck up to the shooting line

All makes for a wonderful Sunday with friends, fellow mountain men, and usually a good BBQ

An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

I did IDPA for awhile. Haven't participated lately, I kinda want to get back into it.
