Was it registered as AR pistol in LV ?
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

NV doesn't have a registry like CA does. If your referring to how it was 4473 it depends on the dealer. Refer to your lower ie "multi-cal or carbine or something else" A lower for example states "M4A1 Carbine Cal 5.56MM." it Would be CFAR as long gun.

Why would he register it as a long gun when it was a pistol before and has never been a rifle?

Ruger has lowers but also a complete pistol build. The question is what kind of lower does the person have to help determine their path on CFAR if that makes sense as they stated a Ruger lower.

Me personally if I was to go back to CA I would do it as pistol just out of spite lol.

If it was originally built as a semi-auto pistol in NV and never assembled as a rifle at any time, you should register it in CFARS as a semi-auto pistol.

I thought semi auto AR pistols are now considered AW in CA? Can a new resident bring one into the state?

If maglocked with a ten round mag, yes. But expect scrutiny by the DoJ.

Found this on CFARS site, looks like you cant bring an ar pistol in unless Im missing something here..

"Effective July 1, 2018, pursuant to California Penal Code section 29180, the sale or transfer of ownership of a self-manufactured or self-assembled firearm is prohibited. Accordingly, commencing on July 1, 2018, the DOJ will not accept a New Resident Report of Firearm Ownership for a self-manufactured or self-assembled firearm. The possessor of a self-manufactured or self-assembled firearm shall submit a Unique Serial Number Application (USNA) via CFARS to be issued a unique serial number by the DOJ. If the USNA process is completed successfully, the DOJ will record the firearm in the applicant's name."

Register as pistol. Huge resale value if your CA paperwork for the lower
                    says “semi auto pistol”

I think what you posted related to 80% lowers, not serialized lowers from a manufacturer

Beanz you should look up some info. If registered as other or pistol in Nevada then same here. Cannot build one from scratch here.

This is for "self manufactured" from 80% lower. You can bring in a compliant AR pistol, must be maglocked, no VFG, no mags greater than 10 rounds. Either way, lower or built up, register as pistol, $19/transaction. Personally I would build it out as a pistol then register, but that's just me. I'm sure someone else will chime in with any specifics I am missing.

I just went on as if I was going to reg it. Apparently my option looks like Pistol/Semi auto/Frame only.

I had it as a full ar pistol and stripped it down and sold the parts. So now just a stripped lower. I dont really have any plans to build on it anytime soon but wasnt sure how to reg it since my 60 day clock is running out.

As was mentioned previously, if it has never been a rifle and was originally a pistol on 4473 then register as pistol frame only. You should be GTG. $19/transaction.
