    Gun Kings Armory

Stay away from Gun Kings Armory in Glendale!

I had similar experiences as Oldnoob and cannon mentioned in this thread http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ight=Gun+Kings.

Approximately two weeks ago I met a fellow Calgunner at GKA to do a transfer on a rifle. We were the only two persons in the store when we got there, yet it took the heavy-set, bald guy about 40 minutes to complete all the paper work for the transfer.

During this time he bantered about how bad the NRA is, and also challenged my fellow Calgunner (the seller) as to the legality of bullet buttons, Radlocks and the like in relation to the seller's USC (which he did not have with him). The seller who is a young man, was able to hold his own with the bald guy behind the counter as the seller is well versed in the current laws regarding EBRs, as well as he is prepared with the contact info for one of our great attorneys. The seller noted that there were no EBRs in the store, so for those looking to transfer an OLL, I'd avoid this place.

I went to pick up my rifle recently, and although I was not subjected to the bald guys rhetoric, I did have to sign some BS hang tag that was yellow in color and about 3"x4" in size. It appeared to be something they may use for filing, but definitely it had nothing to do with DOJ. I don't like signing anything I don't have to, and I surely don't like my signature simply hanging out there for someone to use improperly.

This will be the last time I use this dealer and I would suggest others stay away and find someone else to do business with based on my experience.

that place was worth going to like... 15 years ago.

They treat you like you are a moron, and their only claim to fame was their 1911s.

I've haven't been there because of their attitude ever since.

        Oh well.

For every bad experience there is a good experience. I went in there and was threated nicely and didn't even buy anything. I do admit that the store could use some better indoor lighting.

I haven't had any problems there. Well, finding parking is a problem, not that the parking lot next to them is under construction.

It is now a different store with different owners. This is NOT Kings Gun Works although they evidently kept one if not more of the sales staff ( the bald guy is good for a laugh).

                    Too bad

I like Kings except for the bald guy.

I guess every store has to have one know-it-all who actually knows nothing. Everyone else I've dealt with there has been pleasant and helpful.

The trick is to avoid baldy at all costs.

And look what happened to B&B...

I bought about 20 guns there before their attitude turned me off.

Yah but B&b didn't go out of business because of attitude, though they were always very nice and helpful with me.

They did not, agreed, but disrespecting customers who spend $1000's in your shop (my family and I) ain't exactly good for business...

I remember the late days of B&B's existence; their prices were way up compared with when I used to buy stuff from them regularly and they used to have a sale ad along with all the other gun stores in the Friday papers and Western Outdoor News. I stopped buying from them because their prices were just no longer competitive; started going to B&E in Cypress much more as you could always deal with them and their prices were the best around. They later had problems of their own but that's another story. Turners used to have great sale ads back then also; miss the good ole days.

                              sorry for straying OT....
