    The key is that the roster calls out the SKU. It's for a post-lock 586-8 model. If you are looking at a pre-lock, then it is definitely NOT a -8 model.

    Note that you can do a Single Action Exemption on the gun if you are handy and have an FFL that will allow it. Here is the thread detailing the process.

        For Smiths it's even more confusing that just matching up the dash number in the model designation. It also has to have the "A" or "B" engraved into the the top strap. Not all of them are marked with the letter, friend of mine got caught in that mess last year.

          I sold my pre Hillary hole 686+ (purchased on the 90s) a few years ago and at that time, the FFL mentioned it is no longer on roster

            in short it is not on the roster - if shipper will convert to single action you have a chance if not good luck finding one already here
