    Ar legal question

Want to buy a Daniels Defense DDM4V7. The company won't ship to Ca. Only to there Ca dealers. Dealers haven't seen stock in months, won't help in anyway cause of the covid rush etc.

I'm about to be in Oklahoma for a while. If I have the gun shipped to the FFL in Oklahoma (you can buy long guns with any valid ID) the only thing I need to do to bring it back to CA is install a maglock and leave the Mags behind right?

Ar's are CA legal. I can legally purchasing in Ok. Maglock would make it Ca compliant - is my thinking.

I just don't want to accidentally violate the law so I'm double checking.

Could you buy it in OK, fly back to Vegas, and drive it in from there?

    In legal configuration, of course.

You can buy it, you can not take possession of it without following all of Ca laws. Which means the OK FFL shipping it to a CA FFL for DROS 10 day wait, and dealer transfer fee.

I can't legally posses it in Oklahoma and just leave it in my OK gun Safe if I want?

Its a question of residency in terms of taking possession. Are you a resident of CA or OK? You must be a resident of the state you take possession in.

Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

Oklahoma, doesn't care what state your ID is from for long guns. Have to be a resident for Handguns.

(not related but to confuse the matter) I have a valid Texas DL, and a Ca ID (Own a business in both places). And my family home is in Oklahoma. I sorta rotate between holidays and work.

Not legal by federal statutes, but dealing outside of a gun show happens a lot.

Its federal law that you can only purchase in the state you live/home is. If you live in Oklahoma and just visit Texas and CA on a temporary basis you might be a resident of OK for instance. But if you live in CA and visit the family home in OK, you are likely a resident of CA.

Have it shipped from an FFL/Dealer/Manufacturer to Audio Phil in Arizona, he is a middle man, that's his business, and its legal. He will ship it to your CA FFL after CA mods. Audio Phil is a member (AUDIOPHIL2), here is his forum business link. --->https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...play.php?f=376

AUDIOPHIL2 does a good job contact him.

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

                      Gents,

It is legal to purchase, and transfer, a rifle or shotgun in any state, but the transfer of any such weapon has to comply with the state laws in both the state where the transaction occurs and well as the state law of the buyer's state of residence. Please refer to 18 USC 922(b)(3) for the details.

As a result of that state law provision, it's pretty much impossible for a California resident to purchase a rifle or shotgun under 18 USC 922(b)(3). California state law requires the submission of a state DROS reporting the sale, and requires that a California licensed dealer process the transfer.

felony to buy firearm in other state as a ca resident cash and carry must go to ffl here.
