Sionyx Night vision versus baby monitor

I have old smartphones. Why is this sionyx camera any better than duct tapping a $20 baby monitor to my head and my phone to my face. Not interested in recording video. I think this thing is for perverts.

Get an original Sony Handy cam with infrared nightscope if you want to be really pervy. Otherwise, I don't quite understand wtf you are talking about. Seems the camera has some extra super color nightvision. I don't know whgat a baby cam and phone taped to your head are supposed to do or I don't have the imagination to understand your reference.

It might help if you provide a frame of reference for what your trying to do.

How much resolution do you think that baby monitor has? I'm willing to bet it's not going to be much good beyond 5 yards or so. You might be able to walk around with that bubba set up inside, but picking up fine details probably not so much. Not to mention the light from the cell phone will completely destroy your night vision and let everyone, and everything know exactly where you are.

Well I guess I need an IR Illuminator to fully utilize. But not super impressed.

Its just a digital night vision optic for the poor people who can't buy a pvs14 , its not a bad device but isn't really on the same stage as true NODs.
