An exercise in risk management...
If they are yelling Police after they kicked in the door there is a very good likelihood that they are the police. Yes, there have been robberies where people pose as police but statistically the number is low.
Basic options are comply, barricade, or start blasting. Blasting will get you killed if it is the police. Barricading might still get you killed. Complying will likely mean you will live to find out what the hell is going on.
I would argue your best chance for survival is to comply and hope it really is the police, which it probably is. Particularly since most of the home invasion robberies where people pose as police involves the homeowner being involved in drug activity, etc.

Get a steel security door. Years ago my neighbor set her kitchen on fire. Took three firemen with their door prying tools at least 4-5 minutes to get the door bent and twisted far enough that it gave and swumg open.
