    Second Amendment Sports Bought Buy Turners

    I visited Palm Desert Second Amendment Sports this afternoon for a ppt. When it was my turn in line, I told the salesman what I was there for. He told me they couldn't process transfers right now. When I asked him why, he said the ownership of the FFL was changing over. I asked him what that meant. And he said all four Second Amendment Sports stores were bought out by Turner's Outdoorsman.

    At least for this store, the FFL will be for Turner's effective December 1. Not sure what the timeline is looking like for the Bakersfield or Tuscon store.

    The gentlemen I spoke to sounded excited. It's good opportunity for them to have upward movement and transfers elsewhere (including out of state). I just hope the hospitable attitude of the gun counter guys doesn't suffer and turn into a DMV-like atmosphere.

    I told the guy I'll come back on December 1 and I'll be sure to bring lunch for the day while I wait for help. Guy got a good laugh.

    That's interesting, both stores in Bakersfield have shooting ranges in them and the bigger store is small compared to most Turners. The smaller store here in town would be tiny for a Turners.

      Man I don't know if that's going to be good. 2nd am in PD is great. Like the range a lot. They had primers when no one else did. We shall see how it goes.

            second amemdment sucks, the original store is here. the owner is a mercanary. supported a gun byback, forces staff to make sales quotas, not allowed to refer to any other stores even if they cant sell requested item, etc...

            the gunners here dont support them...

            Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
            Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
            The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
            The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

            Are full of passionate intensity.

              They have a range at the Palm Desert store too. But even with the range, the entire shop is still smaller than the three Turners stores I've visited.

              I've heard about the sales quotas and ruling with an iron fist kind of management. But the guys who work at the Palm Desert shop have always seemed pretty cool. The manager Kent and the other sales guys have always done right by me... never tried pressuring me into buying Y when I couldn't find X available. And not trying to BS their way through a question I had if they didn't know an answer.

                I have never been to PD or that store. But, If it is going to Turners, it will go to chiets faster than a Tijuana taco. That is guaranteed.
                Sorry for the locals who shop there.

                    I didn't see it earlier, but here's the announcement back on December 1, 2020 on Turner's page.

                      There’s a lot of mad gun people in Bakersfield, that Turners is coming. Absolutely garbage customer service.

                        Has anything changed at the PD store? Is turner's going to keep the ranges going?

                          The ones in Bakersfield are keeping the ranges I heard. Turners took over Tacti cool over in Santa Maria last year or earlier this year, and they kept the range there.

                              Turners nearest to me is Salinas. Experience there has been barely ok, and I've spoken with a couple managers to no avail this year. Buy anything and they make you feel like they are doing you a favor. Folks put up with it because there aren't a lot of choices, as soon as there is- many of are gone. I hope the merger helps them improve their retail service game.
