I visited Palm Desert Second Amendment Sports this afternoon for a ppt. When it was my turn in line, I told the salesman what I was there for. He told me they couldn't process transfers right now. When I asked him why, he said the ownership of the FFL was changing over. I asked him what that meant. And he said all four Second Amendment Sports stores were bought out by Turner's Outdoorsman.
At least for this store, the FFL will be for Turner's effective December 1. Not sure what the timeline is looking like for the Bakersfield or Tuscon store.
The gentlemen I spoke to sounded excited. It's good opportunity for them to have upward movement and transfers elsewhere (including out of state). I just hope the hospitable attitude of the gun counter guys doesn't suffer and turn into a DMV-like atmosphere.
I told the guy I'll come back on December 1 and I'll be sure to bring lunch for the day while I wait for help. Guy got a good laugh.
