Big Corporate FFL Lied to Me

I'm not gonna name them. This FFL called me claiming they made a mistake on my 4473, my passport has my full middle name but the 4473 only had initial. They told me to bring my firearm in and restart DROS again, and 10-day waiting period. I said no. I went home and checked ATF website, sure in enough, it explicitly states mistakes can be corrected on a photocopy of original 4473, both parties initial the photocopy and FFL archives the photocopy along with original 4473.

There was a mixup on DROS and they fixed it with the wrong info.

They had to re-DROS because they told me they couldn't do two corrections on one form. They didn't charge me!

Be very careful. I have a friend that bought a lower. A week after he picked it up he started getting phone calls that there was a problem and he needed to bring the lower in so they could check it. He refused and the requests turned into demands and threats that the cops were going to show up and take it. Long story short, one of the counter dumbies gave it to him and DOJ hadn't approved it. He was worried about losing his FFL and was being a total ***. Rather than admit he made a mistake and be honest he went the threats and intimidation route. When he took it in they canceled the sale and returned his money. He bought one from another store without all the drama.

I'd reach out to the big FFL corporate HQ. Your passport is not relevant as you cannot buy a firearm with a passport.

The Federal Form asks you to print your legal name- including middle name....
