    Interesting voicemail from the ATF

I just received the following voicemail from the ATF. The voice was the same robot lady that constantly reminds me that my car warranty is about to expire, so I assumed it was some sort of scam. But i checked the phone numbers left in the voicemail and they are indeed the real ATF numbers.

I don’t have a “store” but I do have an ffl03. I wonder if the ATF is preparing for significantly more rioting and looting and wants to warn all FFLs?

This is an important message from the Bureau of alcohol tobacco firearms and explosives ATF would like to remind you to remain vigilant and to take appropriate steps to secure both your firearms inventory and your required records during evening hours while the store is closed additionally please be alert of any suspicious activities in your general area and reported to your local police department if you have any specific information regarding criminal activities related to firearms theft please contact the ATF at 800-800-3855 or call the local office at 925-557-2800…”

          A friendly reminder doesn't hurt.

Looks like it's directed to regular FFL's and not necessarily C&R licensees...similar to the C&R application which is also used by regular FFL's. Nothing to worry about.
