Just got an e-mail. November show cancelled. Been dealing with cancellations and postponements since June. Think I am done with them.

The Big Reno Show has been circling the bowl for a while now, and frankly I won't be sad to see them go, given how bad the shows have been in the last few years.Comment

Nevada COVID lock down bans all expos/shows/meetings/conventions that will have more than 1000 attendees and staff members.
^This is the reason why all gun shows in Nevada are cancelled and will continued to be cancelled until NV loosens their COVID lock down requirements.sigpic

How much money do you expect them to lose just to make you happy by putting on the show?
The live events industry has been ****ing devastated by the Wuhan Flu. Exhibition and Production companies are overwhelmed by restrictions, and underwhelmed by exhibitors and participants. The industry pretty much accepts that it will be the Spring...at the earliest...before events can happen with any type of expectation of success.
Seriously? What large-ish shows are we going to have within driving distance from California if the Big Reno Show stops happening? Or do you just prefer the jerky and turquoise tables that is the California gun show?Last edited by Gryff; 11-03-2020, 7:29 PM.My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.Comment

Honestly, the New Frontier shows were way better in terms of quality and quantity of items on sale, and they had new vendors with good stuff as well. Also the Big Show promoters also restricted what their vendors could sell in the wake of the Las vegas concert shootings, which was lame. Regardless of my opinion, the rumor has been that the Big Reno show has been on its last legs for quite some time.Comment

The show cancelled because Washoe County further restricted assemblies:
hitdank, you're thinking of when the show was at the Grand Sierra. The hotel's management sandbagged the show and attendees with myriad restrictions, without warning, at the last minute. This show was supposed to have been held at the Sparks Nugget but was killed by Washoe County.Public gatherings in Washoe County are limited to 250 people or fewer. Starting Nov. 5 at 11:59 p.m., public gatherings must be fewer than 50, per a decision by the Nevada COVID-19 Mitigation & Management Task Force. Due to elevated transmission of COVID-19 in our community, Washoe County Health District's recommendation is that public gatherings be limited to 25 or fewer and private gatherings be limited to 10 or fewer. Large events of more than 250 people will not be allowed for at least 30 days, per the Health District.
None of this is the fault of the Big Reno Gun Show.Last edited by Grumpyoldretiredcop; 11-03-2020, 9:00 PM.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

This is not the fault of the Big Reno Show. At all. Are we blaming local restaurants for not defying government orders? No, because that's ridiculous.
I will also never understand why we hate so much on gun shows in this forum. You do realize that gun shows do have a huge value besides being a marketplace? It is one of the only places where gun owners can gather in person in large numbers and exchange information. This endless rooting for the demise of these important First Amendment forums is mind-boggling.sigpic

NFR will never leave Vegas permanently. We've gone every years since 2004 and there has always been rumors of NFR moving. Spectators and contestants love Vegas too much. Covid is the only reason its' moved to Tx this yearComment
