Suppressors - Legal if kept in a free state?

As a resident of Comiefornia can I get approved for a tax stamp to purchase a suppressor if I never bring it here behind enemy lines? Or will the BATF deny me based on residence?

My uncle lives on acreage outside of Boise and the coyote hunting is excellent. It would be great to be able to just store my own suppressor at his house instead of borrowing one.

The ATF will deny it if you are the applicant and it's illegal in your state. Best move is for your uncle to transfer it into a trust and after it is approved, he adds your name to the trust. Then you can use it any time in any free state.

You won’t even find a class 3 dealer in another state who will actually fill out a Form 4 after you show them your out of state driver license.

To clarify, get your uncle to "buy" it as a trust. Not actually receive it and then transfer it again.

Silencer Shop has their own Single Shot trust for 25 bucks. You'd have to be on a pretty tight budget to do it yourself. Although I don't know if you can buy that trust if you don't buy your can from them. For people that don't know, Silencer Shop is a good low-stress way for first timers. Their "Powered" dealers have a kiosk that takes your prints. But the main thing is finding a can in stock. You thought 9mm was hard to find...

I filled out one of those "notify me when in stock" things, and I checked two hours after I got the email. All gone.

Two hours is too long. Have it sent as a text to your phone. Drop everything when you get the text.

You should be able to if your transfer dealer is a SS dealer.

I bought their Single Shot Unlimited for Form 4 transfers. After your 6th trust, you're ahead of the game!

With that said, I also make my own Form 1 trust on MS Word just because (1) I'm compulsive, (2) I'm a cheapskate and (3) I love SBRs.

It was like 7 am on a Saturday. I didn't even wake up for another 2 hours. Besides, I haven't seen the option of getting a text.

They can't find them any easier than I can. I've been much better at finding cans than my local dealers. They would still have to check with big dealers like Silencer Shop.
