How does this work? If I sell a gun ppt and include 500 rounds with it as part of the sale, do I have to wait a month to sell anymore ammo?

Does ammo transferred with a firearm count towards the 500 a month limit?

Where did you come up with 500 rounds per month? That isn’t a thing. I was under the impression that as long as you’re DROS’ing the ammo, you’re following the regs.Originally posted by ysr_racerPlease don't bring logic and reason into an interwebs discussion

In the state of California there is a 500 round per month limit on private party ammunition sales unless you have an ammunition dealers license. This limitation is placed upon the seller. You can buy as much as you can afford, but there are limits on selling. What I am asking is whether rounds included with PPT firearms transfers count towards that limit.Last edited by EricT71; 10-25-2020, 10:25 AM.Comment

The form doesn't have a place to put down how much you paid, if it was a trade, or if they just felt like giving away ammo. The ammo form just says who and what. This leads me to believe the state would treat all transactions as sales.Comment
