Does ammo transferred with a firearm count towards the 500 a month limit?

How does this work? If I sell a gun ppt and include 500 rounds with it as part of the sale, do I have to wait a month to sell anymore ammo?

Where did you come up with 500 rounds per month? That isn’t a thing. I was under the impression that as long as you’re DROS’ing the ammo, you’re following the regs.

In the state of California there is a 500 round per month limit on private party ammunition sales unless you have an ammunition dealers license. This limitation is placed upon the seller. You can buy as much as you can afford, but there are limits on selling. What I am asking is whether rounds included with PPT firearms transfers count towards that limit.

The form doesn't have a place to put down how much you paid, if it was a trade, or if they just felt like giving away ammo. The ammo form just says who and what. This leads me to believe the state would treat all transactions as sales.

He is talking about selling ammo, and yes, 500 rounds is the limit per month.

500 rounds is a private sale limit, not purchasing limit

why wouldn't it count? is it a sale of ammo? Then it counts. This PC is one of the more straightforward ones. Not sure why someone would think "also selling a gun" would make that ammo not count toward the limit.

Adding emphasis. The limit is when you are selling private party.
