  • Winchester Model 1903 22 cal. take down

Does anyone know where I can find info regarding this rifle. Need to clean, inspect before I fire.

    Thanks

If you have an internet connection, I'd suggest Google

Looks like this isn't a .22 rimfire, but a .22 Winchester auto, which is a different cartridge.

      Here's a thread on it:

      -hanko's right; google on:

      winchester 1903 22

I'd recommend not shooting it unless you have .22 auto ammo.

You can still get 22 Winchester Auto rimfire ammo on Gunbroker and Auction Arms, but it often goes for as much as $20 per box.

22AMMO.com ( http://www.22ammo.com/obsolete.html ) still lists it for sale on their obsolete ammo page, but you can't get to that page directly from their web site, so I don't know if they really have it in stock anymore. The Old Western Scrounger used to have it, but his web site doesn't seem to be working anymore.
