    I didn't know that, what a waste..

Glad I'll never have to go through it. The 10 day wait is silly enough.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I'm sure you have an idea why you were denied....
If not, as was said earlier, check your dros paperwork for any spelling errors ect.

They do a background check before you can shoot at a range? When did that start?

I talked to a guy this evening who said he waited 2 weeks and still did not have an answer on the $19 ammo background check, so he bought a gun to get into the AFS system.

Do you owe child support or going through custody hearing.

they give you a copy of the form at time of application while youre standing there - look @ that form he/she likely spelled something wrong

As already posted there could be a problem with your driver's license.
                    Did it expire?
                    Any unpaid tickets?
Did you cross any toll bridges and never got the bill in the mail?
                    Child support?
When you get the letter you will be surprised at what it actually is but most are easily fixed.

Well I was just at a FFL where the person was approved n picked up his firearm. Lifted n come back 5 mins later to buy ammo. He was denied. They checked his info 3 times n was still denied.

There's no rhyme or reason to it. It's I think a random lottery. That's why I bought everything I need and hopefully I'm going to start reloading soon.

No background check to shoot at a range. He was just stating that if your a prohibited person your not supposed to be at a range...

I was under the impression that this was impossible due to federal regs.

                            Never looked it up though.

Yep. Years ago, I got denied due to auto registration issues. Turns out it was a mistake on DMVs part, but I got denied at the gun store because of it.
