Optics Planet must be running some weird drop ship type setup where they don’t keep any stock, they order your item from the manufacturer once you place the order, receive it, place it in their box and finally ship to you.

That is exactly what they do - for a long time now...

Do not order from Optics Planet if you are in a hurry. Order from Optics Planet only if you want to save money.

Some things they don't even bother to box it. My reloading press just got a ups label. That is their business. Now you know how it works and can determine if it acceptable to you. I got 10% off with a coupon obtained here and another 10% in "OP bucks" so it was worth it for me.

I once ordered a red dot from them and I completely forgot about it... until it arrived 4 months later...

I ordered from them back when Obama became POTUS in 2008, cancelled my order after a few weeks. Never again.

Optics Planet, like Cheaper Than Dirt, has long been a big retail no-no for gun owners.

Yeah, same here. I go there for the deals and they ship my stuff. Sometimes, I have to wait longer.

Optics Planet is a garbage company... with garbage policies... and garbage customer service. Any time they respond to a complaint about not shipping unquestionably legal parts to California, they drag out their tired mantra about freedom to do as they choose.

Hinting that we're actually anti-freedom by complaining about a business is a pretty stupid customer service policy, but every time they burn a one-time customer they pick up another one-time customer. Welcome to the American business model.

I ordered a part from them that they showed as in stock. Everyone else showed it as not available. Several months later they cancel my order. They never had it in stock. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. I will never order from them again.
