you are right, but thats a very small disadvantage in the jist of things. I hunt often, so in my case i utilize my rights alot.Comment

National parks you can't have an accessible weapon period, because of this i try to keep my backpacking to national forest land
as for discharge, every wilderness permit I have gotten has specifically said it is illegal to discharge except in an emergency or taking legal gameComment

Guys, it is a national forest. That means loaded open carry is 100% ok. Check with the local ranger station, as some areas have different rules on shooting. But for the most part you can go target shooting or hunting til your heart's content, provided you don't start any fires, are 150' from inhabited structures, are not shooting across roads, and clean up after you are done.
