What does the future for ammo prices/availability look like?

When should we expect prices for ammo to drop back down to normal? Or is “normal” a thing of the past now? Is there any chance availability or prices will ever return to reasonable amounts? (Let me know if this is the wrong section to post this)

If Trump/GOP combo keeps the power, you will see a rollback to the old normal some time in 2021, right after the left rioters are out of breath. If "Harris administration with Joe Biden" wins, the prices your currently observe will be considered as a steal deal, and the availability you currently observe will be considered as plentiful.
In other words, you will see no ammo at all.

When there is more supply than people need (demand), prices will fall

Prices will eventually go lower, but probably not as low as they were previously. People get used to paying more, and companies get used to charging more, unless there are other strong downward pressures on the market.

@riderr is correct on all accounts.

Trump wins and it will be normal in 3 months,
Trump loses it will stay bad until it gets worse.

If Biden wins, gun owners are in trouble. If Biden wins AND we lose the Senate, Gun owners are facing possible complete and total confiscation of all SACF guns, pistols included, that can accept a magazine holding more than 10 rounds.

If we follow the man made climate change model or the Fauci Covid model, the year will be 2216 and until then, all is lost.

It looks really bad. That's how it looks.

I see ammo and reloading supply availability and prices improving every week. Firearms are still scarce though.

Firearms are coming back. I see more stock in the stores. Soon they'll be begging for sales. Same with ammo.

Perhaps we could figure out the answer to the OP's question if we only could sense a trend...

Even in the best case scenario, ammunition will be scarce for another year because ammo manufacturers are busy fulfilling backorders.
