    SRP In 9mm

I was interested in this after talking with a few shooters that load many thousands of rounds per year. Some have done it, most suggested starting at the lowest charge and reduce that by .2 gns. The only drawback I've heard about is maybe a light primer strike in some pistols.

I figured the best place to start was with the Ruger PC9 since it's after all, a rifle.

    Here's what happened today.

    Brazos 147gn Hi-Tek RN
    3.0 gns W-231
    1.125
    902fps avg.
    Winchester SPP

    Brazos 147gn Hi-Tek RN
    2.8 gns W-231
    1.125
    867fps avg.
    CCI SRP

Looks like I could have loaded the same charge without much difference. I may try some lighter bullets in my pistols and see it I have any issues. Good to know I can extend my 9mm shooting with them if need be.

I meant to post this in ammo and reloading, move if need be.

    Thanks for posting that info.

I have been contemplating the same thing with regards to my .357 mag loads.

I have no small pistol magnum primers, but have plenty of small rifle.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers,

No experience with that, I don't own a .357. I load .38spl but only have a snubbie so not using my SPP's for it right now.
